Fiorentina v Udinese

Today I went to my second professional soccer game as Fiorentina took on Udinese, a lesser team within the Italian Serie A league. It would be the first time seeing our team win after a disappointing last minute loss to Milan. Sunday was a great day for a soccer game; the weather was especially sunny and warm when the match began at 3 p.m. We walked to the stadium in only our jerseys and undershirts. This time I got to the stadium early enough to hear the starting line-up as well as the team's fight song. We were hoping for an easy win, but there was still no score until the 36th minute of play, when Juan Vargas netted the first goal of the day. Surprisingly Fiorentina's lead was short-lived when Simone Pepe put one in for Udinese. The visiting crowd went crazy of course, but did not seem like much compared to Milan's faithful one month earlier. Once the second half started, La Viola made sure there was no chance of failure. Ten minutes into the half Gilardino slipped one by the opposing goalkeeper, and Fiorentina never looked back as both Santana and Jovetic added a goal each to their counts. It was a lot of fun to watch Fiorentina beat up on Udinese 4-1 along with 25,000 other crazy fans.
